As part of the fourth No Kings celebrations on October 17, 2026, millions of people at over 3,000 locations gathered to demand transparency and accountability in the halls of government and to demand fairness in the nation’s legal and economic systems. These inclusive and family-friendly events happened in urban, suburban, and rural areas of every State and even in other countries where United States citizens currently live. In particular, the latest No Kings actions focused on the importance of voting in the upcoming mid-term elections because of the repeated attacks against the rule of law and the intensifying affordability crisis.
The widespread and increasing concern about the attacks against the rule of law has emerged from the escalating corruption, criminality, and cruelty occurring at the Federal level in key quarters. Relatedly, widespread and increasing concern about the affordability crisis results from many of the same types of misconduct at the Federal level as well as from the ongoing wage theft, retaliation, and other unlawful employer conduct. In addition, and since January 2025, a growing and now overwhelming percentage of people in the United States recognizes the dire threats to civil rights and civil liberties posed by the current Federal regime. In other words, an almost universal understanding of the need to act together peacefully and persistently to secure democracy and advance the public interest has taken hold in the United States.
